Jackie green
I'm an abstract artist living on the Mornington Peninsula. I have 3 boys and am married. I love to exercise - my biggest passions are fitness, creating artwork and taking photos.
I have an awesome studio in Moorooduc. I love to create large artworks. My inspiration can come from many things such as travel, my local area and emotions. I like to layer my artworks and give them texture, I like them to tell a story with each layer telling it's own story.

Where did you study art or how did you train?:
I started out as a sign writer. I went to Melbourne College of Decoration and completed my signwriting apprenticeship. I achieve honours for pictorial art and gold leaf work. I then went to Melbourne school of Art and photography and studied art and photography. I also studied at RMIT interior design. I love to combine these aspect such as Typography, and also abstract art. I like my artwork to tell a story like an old sign - sign ghosting on a wall or a billboard.
Who are your biggest artistic influences?:
Lesley Grainger Andy Warhol Alex Proba Ellen Levine Dodd David Pher Norio Monma
How would you describe your artistic style?:
I love to create texture and tell a story, with each layer having its own unique story like an old billboard or wall like sign ghosting. I love my art to be about feelings and bring happiness or positivity.
What themes or subjects do you most frequently explore in your art work?:
I usually have words or symbols these can be hidden or more obvious. I seem to gravitate towards warm colours such as pinks, yellows, although blue is my favourite colour. I usually have some white flowers somewhere these are representative of my local ingenious flowers along my coastline. I can be bright and bold as I also love Melbourne laneways so my artwork can be two extremes from coastal to Urban and sometimes a combo of both. I like to explore different mediums. I also like to include signage such as light boxes and acrylic you will see some new light boxes this year.

Tell us about your first painted ArtBag. What was the inspiration behind this piece. What did you most and least enjoy about working on it?:
I have never painted a bag before so I enjoyed painting on leather for the first time. I was a little nervous but enjoyed the whole process. I wanted to include happy vibes such as hearts and hugs and kisses.
Jackie Green chose to custom paint a nubuck Salvatore Ferragamo Vara bag. This bag is cream nubuck leather, teamed with gold hardware and the signature bow.
