FAQ’s
What colour can I change my item to?
We custom mix all of our colours in house, so can pretty much match to any colour you like, There are limitations in some respects to ensure your item has a professional finish:
Leather/Vegan Leather
We recommend avoiding changing leather to a lighter colour than the original ie. Black to White. This is due to the number of coats required to cover over a darker colour would result in a loss of the original look and feel of the leather. We like to limit the coats to 3 to maintain the original texture.
Patent
Patent leather has to be dyed to a darker colour. If your bag has dark stains on the surface these cannot be covered over and the darker the dye applied the more likely these stains will disappear. Think of it much like hair dye - you can’t dye hair lighter you bleach it, so therefor we have to stick to more darker and earthy tones such as dark red, black, brown, grey, dark purple, dark blue.
Suede
Much like patent leather suede also needs to be dyed, meaning any imperfections that the suede has will likely show through the dye, so the darker the better for a more even finish.
How long will the colour last?
Much like any leather bag, wear and tear is expected. If you scuff or scratch your leather bag the original colour will be revealed underneath. We recommend adding a ColourPen to your order for on the go touch ups, or you may want to consider sending in your bag for regular maintenance depending on the usage of your bag.
With patent and suede, once the colour is changed that’s it, it is permanent. Suede may fade over time depending on usage and UV exposure.
This service doesn’t make your bag invincible and it should still treated with care just like the original item
How long will the service take?
Our Colour Change service can take between 2-3 weeks depending on complexity. We like to take time and care over each item that comes our way. If you have a specific date requirement please let us know and we will endeavour to meet this but cannot guarantee.
