Your Handbag Care Routine

Clean → Condition → Protect

Step 1.

Does your bag have mould?

If your handbag has visible mould, a musty smell or requires antibacterial cleaning, start with:

Luxe Handbag Mould Cleaner

Use On

Suitable for all leather, fabric, handbag interiors, linings, pockets and exterior surfaces.

Step by Step

1. Remove surface contamination
Spray Mould Cleaner onto a clean cloth.

2. Wipe the entire handbag
Remove visible mould, dirt and debris from the exterior and interior.

Pay particular attention to pockets, seams, corners and other areas where mould may be hiding.

3. Treat the whole bag
Once the surface contamination has been removed, spray Mould Cleaner liberally over all interior and exterior surfaces.

4. Do not wipe it off
Leave the product on the handbag.

5. Leave to dry for 24 hours
Allow the bag to air dry naturally.

6. Check the handbag
If mould is still visible once completely dry, repeat the process.

The same process can be used for musty odours and antibacterial cleaning.

Step 2.

Choose the right cleaner

Choose one cleaner based on the material and level of cleaning required.

Luxe Leather Handbag Cleaner

Best For

Light everyday dirt, regular maintenance, delicate leather and absorbent leather.

Use On

  • Aniline leather

  • Absorbent leather

  • Vachetta leather

  • Exotic leather

  • Light, coloured and dark leather

  • Finished leather

  • Unfinished leather

  • Suede

  • Nubuck

Step by Step

1. Patch test
Test on a hidden area and allow it to dry fully.

2. Apply to your cloth
Spray enough cleaner onto a soft cloth to wet the cloth well.

Do not spray directly onto the handbag.

3. Clean one full panel
Gently work the cleaner over the leather using light, controlled movements.

Avoid cleaning only one small spot. Work one complete panel at a time.

4. Continue around the bag
Pay particular attention to handles, corners, openings and other high-contact areas.

5. Allow to dry naturally
Absorbent leather may darken while wet but should dry back towards its original colour.

Suede & Nubuck

Apply the cleaner to a cloth and clean one full panel at a time.

Leave to dry for 24 hours.

Once completely dry, brush the surface with a suede brush to remove the dried product and lift away loosened dirt.

Repeat if required, allowing the material to dry completely between treatments.

Deep Clean

Luxe Handbag Foam Cleaner

Best For

Heavier dirt, ingrained grime and deeper cleaning of finished, non-absorbent surfaces.

Use On

  • Finished leather

  • Non-absorbent leather

  • Saffiano leather

  • Epi leather

  • Coated canvas

Step by Step

1. Patch test first
Apply a small amount to a hidden area.

If the foam absorbs into the leather, stop and use Luxe Leather Handbag Cleaner instead.

2. Apply the foam
Dispense a generous amount of foam directly onto one full panel.

3. Gently agitate
Use a soft-bristled brush, such as a soft toothbrush or dish brush.

Gently work the foam over the surface and allow it to lift dirt from the grain.

4. Remove the dirt
Once the entire panel has been cleaned, wipe away the foam with kitchen paper.

The loosened dirt will lift away with the foam.

5. Allow to dry
Let the panel dry completely.

6. Repeat if required
Continue around the handbag one full panel at a time.

Patent Clean

Luxe Handbag Patent Cleaner

Best For

Glossy patent leather.

Use On

  • Patent leather handbags

  • Glossy patent finishes

  • High-shine patent surfaces

Step by Step

1. Patch test
Always test on a hidden area first.

2. Apply to a cloth
Apply a generous amount of Patent Cleaner to a clean, soft cloth.

3. Clean one full panel
Gently wipe across the patent surface, allowing the product to lift surface dirt and marks.

4. Buff the finish
While there is still some product remaining on the surface, use a separate clean, dry cloth to gently buff the panel.

This helps bring back the glossy patent finish.

5. Continue around the bag
Repeat one full panel at a time.

Patent leather does not need Luxe Leather Conditioner or Luxe Leather Protector.

Step 3.

Luxe Leather Handbag Conditioner

Best For

Dry, tired or less supple leather that would benefit from added nourishment.

Use On

  • Pigment-coated leather

  • Aniline leather

  • Vachetta leather

  • Finished leather

  • Unfinished leather

Do Not Use On

  • Patent leather

  • Suede

  • Nubuck

  • Exotic leather

Step by Step

1. Patch test
Test on a hidden area and allow it to dry.

2. Apply to your cloth
Spray the Conditioner liberally onto a soft cloth.

3. Massage into the leather
Gently work the product into one complete panel at a time.

Do not spot treat. This is a conditioner, not a cleaner, and treating only one small area may create an uneven appearance.

4. Leave to dry for 24 hours
Very dry leather may darken during application.

Allow the handbag to air dry naturally before assessing the result.

5. Repeat if needed
Once completely dry, apply another treatment if the leather still requires conditioning.

Do not oversaturate the leather.

6. Buff if desired
Once dry, buff gently with a clean, dry cloth to bring up the sheen.

Does your bag Need Conditioning?

Once your handbag has been cleaned and is completely dry, you can condition suitable leather.

Step 4.

Protect Your Handbag

Once your handbag is clean, conditioned if required, and completely dry, finish with Luxe Leather Handbag Protector.

You can also apply Protector to a new handbag before its first use.

Luxe Leather Handbag Protector

Helps Protect Against

  • Dye transfer

  • UV fading

  • Everyday exposure

  • Liquid staining on suitable delicate leathers

Use On

  • Pigment-coated leather

  • Aniline leather

  • Vachetta leather

Particularly Useful For

  • Light-coloured leather — helps protect against dye transfer

  • Dark leather — helps protect against colour fading

  • Delicate leather — helps reduce liquid staining

Do Not Use On

  • Patent leather

  • Suede

  • Nubuck

Step by Step

1. Patch test
Test on a hidden area first and allow it to dry fully.

2. Make sure the handbag is clean and dry
Do not apply Protector over dirt or damp leather.

3. Apply evenly
Apply the Protector evenly across the leather following the instructions on the product label.

4. Maintain your protection
Reapply approximately every 2–3 months, depending on how often the handbag is used and the conditions it is exposed to.

If Dye Transfer Occurs

Clean it as soon as possible using Luxe Leather Handbag Cleaner.

The sooner colour transfer is treated, the easier it may be to remove.

Using Your Bagsamoré Cleaning Cloths

Use a fresh cloth to apply cleaners, Conditioner and other handbag-care products.

The cloths can be cut down depending on the size of the job. As a guide, half a cloth should be enough to clean one handbag.

During Cleaning

  • Apply products to the cloth first where instructed.

  • Move to a clean section of the cloth as dirt is lifted.

  • Use a separate clean, dry cloth when buffing.

  • Use separate cloths for different products where possible.

  • Use a separate cloth when treating mould or heavily soiled handbags.

After Use

Rinse used cloths thoroughly and allow them to dry completely before reusing.
