How to Use
The Pro Handbag Cleaning Kit includes four specialist cleaners, each designed for a different handbag-care need. Choose the product that best matches the material, finish and condition of your bag.
Always check the individual product label and patch test on a small, discreet area first. Allow the test area to dry fully before continuing.
Luxe Leather Handbag Cleaner
Best for:
Routine cleaning and light surface dirt on leather handbags. Perfect for regular maintenance and more specialised cleaning of delicate leathers.
Use on:
Aniline leather, absorbent leather, vachetta leather, exotic leather, light, coloured and dark leathers, finished and unfinished leather, suede and nubuck. Designed for surfaces that require gentle, hydrating cleaning.
How to use — always patch test on a hidden area first:
Apply the cleaner to a soft cloth, using enough product to wet the cloth well rather than spraying directly onto the handbag.
Gently work over the surface using light, controlled movements, paying particular attention to areas exposed to regular handling such as handles, corners and openings.
Work your way around the bag one full panel at a time.
On absorbent leathers, the surface may darken during cleaning but will dry back to its original colour.
How to use on suede and nubuck:
Apply the cleaner to a cloth as above and work it over the suede or nubuck surface, ensuring you cover one full panel at a time.
Leave to dry for 24 hours.
Once completely dry, brush the surface with a suede brush. This will remove dried product from the surface and help lift away the loosened dirt.
Repeat if necessary, ensuring the material is completely dry between applications.
This is the best place to start when your handbag needs refreshing but does not require a deeper clean.
Luxe Handbag Foam Cleaner
Best for:
Deeper cleaning and more ingrained dirt or surface build-up.
Use on:
Finished leather, non-absorbent leather, Saffiano leather, Epi leather and coated canvas.
How to use — always patch test on a hidden area first:
Do not use if the product absorbs into the leather. Use Luxe Leather Handbag Cleaner instead.
Dispense a generous amount of foam directly onto one full panel of the handbag.
Gently work the foam across the surface using a soft-bristled brush, such as a toothbrush or soft dish brush, concentrating on areas of visible dirt and grime.
Allow the foam to do the work while using the brush to gently agitate the surface and lift dirt from the grain.
Once the full area has been brushed, wipe away the excess foam with kitchen paper. This will lift away the foam and loosened dirt with it.
Allow the area to dry fully and repeat if necessary.
Continue around the handbag one full panel at a time.
Particularly useful for high-contact areas such as handles, corners and bases.
For lighter routine cleaning or more delicate and absorbent leathers, use the Luxe Leather Handbag Cleaner instead.
Luxe Handbag Patent Cleaner
Best for:
Cleaning and refreshing glossy patent leather.
Use on:
Patent leather handbags and suitable high-gloss patent finishes.
How to use — always patch test on a hidden area first:
Apply a generous amount of Patent Cleaner to a clean, soft cloth and gently wipe across the patent surface.
Work on one full panel at a time, removing surface dirt and marks while allowing the product to do the work.
With the remaining product still on the surface, gently buff the area using a clean, dry cloth to help refresh the glossy finish.
Use only on genuine patent-style finishes.
Luxe Handbag Mould Cleaner
Best for:
Handbags affected by mould, musty odours and surface contamination. It can also be used for antibacterial cleaning.
Use on:
All handbag surfaces where mould treatment is required. Suitable for leather and fabric, allowing both the inside and outside of the handbag to be treated.
How to use:
Spray the product onto a cloth and use it to remove excess surface mould, dirt and debris.
Ensure all visible contamination is removed, including from inside pockets, seams and other accessible areas of the handbag.
Once the bag has been thoroughly cleaned with the cloth, spray the product liberally over all interior and exterior surfaces.
Do not remove the product from the surface. Leave the handbag to dry naturally for 24 hours.
Once fully dry, inspect the bag for any remaining signs of mould. If mould is still present, repeat the process.
For musty odours or antibacterial cleaning, follow the same process.
